m
Distance is measured perpendicular from lens to surface.
3 Stacking & blending
%
%
Stacking adds light. Blending adds size, not brightness – the soft edge dims both projectors in the overlap. Overlap is a share of one projector image (typ. 10–25 %).
4 Geometry & warping

%
% of image height

% of image width
%
Unused pixels from mapping/curvature: flat 0–5 %, cylinder 10–20 %, dome/facade 20–40 %.
5 Surface & ambient
°
°
Half-gain 0° = diffuse (Lambertian). Viewer = angle off the surface normal.
lx
Best measured with a lux meter at the surface, projectors off.
6 Operating factors

new 100 %, rental fleet often 80–90 %

from lens datasheet; scales with zoom position
Rough estimate – haze attenuates light over the throw distance.

E [lx] = Φ_eff [lm] × pixel share ÷ area of one projector image [m²] · L [cd/m²] = E × gain(θ) ÷ π · contrast = (E + E_amb) ÷ E_amb

Why distance alone does not change lux. In “Fixed image size” mode the lens zooms to keep the image the same size, so the same light lands on the same area – only haze, zoom losses and the lens range change with distance. Switch to “Fixed lens zoom” to see how moving the projector grows the image and lowers the lux (inverse-square law).

Data confidence. Verified light output and lens table taken from the manufacturer's (or ProjectorCentral's) page for this exact model. Family lens table taken from a sibling model of the same series – check the manufacturer's lens calculator before booking. Legacy discontinued but common in rental fleets. Light output is ISO 21118 where published, otherwise ANSI. Picture-mode, eco and haze factors are typical values, not device measurements.
